A Nation in Turmoil: Are We Truly Living in the Last Days?

We are in the month of February, the second month of the year 2025, and already chaos is sweeping across the United States. In my almost 28 years of life, I have never been a fan of politics—nor have I ever felt compelled to speak on political matters. But something has changed. My perspective has shifted. My spirit has been stirred.

I have heard people say for years, "Get ready, get ready! We are living in the last days." But are we really living in the last days, or are we simply reaping the consequences of what we have allowed?

This presidential election has truly shocked me. I am disheartened and disappointed. Many are frustrated with the outcome and dissatisfied with the current state of our nation. Yet, a vast majority of these same individuals failed to do their part on November 5th, 2024. They had the power to act, to vote, to at least attempt to change the course of this election—but they chose not to.

The Bible warns us in Proverbs 10:4-5 (NLT):
"Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich. A wise youth harvests in the summer, but one who sleeps during harvest is a disgrace."

Many had the same opportunity to exercise their right to vote. Yet, some chose laziness, some assumed their vote wouldn’t matter, and others simply did not care about the future of this nation—believing that the election’s outcome wouldn’t affect them. But now, reality is setting in.

It is truly a shame that so many people have fallen into this mindset. How can we expect change if we refuse to take action?

Ignoring the Warning Signs: A Lesson from Noah’s Time

Many of you know and remember the story of Noah. Noah like many in the bible was a righteous man According to Genesis 6:9 and was the Only Follower of God left in His Generation. God shared with Noah about the flood that was coming, and instructed Him to prepare to build an Ark. Noah at first did not believe God. He had his own agenda. The bible goes on to talk about in Chapter 6 in the book of Genesis that the Earth was beginning to become corrupt and was filled with violence. God had plans to destroy everything on earth like living creatures as they were corrupted and filled with violence, and He was going to also wipe the earth out as well. He soon began to get on board with God and the assignment that God had given Him concerning the ark. He begins telling and sharing with the people and the people did not believe Noah at all, and they continued to live in sin and continued to do what they wanted to do. But After 7 days the flood gates were opened and the rain began. Noah was then rewarded by God, He Blessed his Sons and told them “Be fruitful and multiply.”. God graced noah to live an additional 350 years, He lived to be 950 years old.

Project 2025: The Project they Ignored

📖 Genesis 7:10-12 (NIV)"And after seven days the floodwaters came on the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights."

Just like in Noah’s time, the warning signs were there. The ark was being built, the message was being preached, yet people still refused to believe that disaster was coming.

In today’s society, the same thing has happened. Many were warned about Project 2025 and everything it entailed. But instead of paying attention, people ignored the signs and voted without fully understanding the consequences. It’s like signing a contract for something they desperately wanted—without reading the fine print.

People were told exactly what Project 2025 would mean—its impact on civil rights, democracy, and the future of this country. Yet, many ignored the warnings, dismissed the risks, and still chose to vote for Trump, believing he was for them.

Even more concerning is how many Black and African Americans were deceived into supporting him. He appeared at churches, made appearances at community events, and played the part of an ally—but it was all strategic. Instead of putting aside their personal vendettas and biases against the idea of a woman in leadership—someone who was actually prepared to serve the people—they allowed deception to drive their decision.

Now, the flood has come—but for many, it’s too late to go back.

Trump's Impact: Dividing Families and Friends

📖 Mark 3:25 (NIV)"If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand."

Throughout history, division has been a tool used to weaken communities, and today, we are witnessing it unfold in real-time. Families are fractured, friendships have ended, and communities are at odds—not just over policies, but over blind loyalty to a man who has built his platform on division and control.

Many Americans ignored the warning signs and voted for Trump, thinking he was for them. In reality, he was never for them—he was only in it for himself. He showed up at churches, community events, and rallies, acting as if he had people's best interests at heart. But behind the scenes, his administration has worked—and continues to work—to dismantle the very things that benefit the American people.

Yet, he still dares to claim he is trying to “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” (MAGA). But have we as a nation not learned from the past? It was under Trump’s leadership that COVID-19 spread into the United States due to his failure to take proper precautions. Some voted for him solely for the sake of a stimulus check or because he promised to delay the TikTok ban, rather than considering the long-term consequences.

It’s Time to Wake Up—But Is It Too Late?

Trump and his administration have openly attacked the history and culture of the United States, particularly targeting communities that have long fought for equal rights.

  • Eliminating Black History Month, Juneteenth, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day?
He claims these holidays are "unnecessary," but what about Presidents' Day and Labor Day? If we begin eliminating cultural and historical observances, who gets to decide which ones truly matter?

  • Rewriting history to remove the truth about slavery, segregation, and civil rights?
Our ancestors fought and died to ensure future generations never forget what happened—yet, Trump’s administration wants to erase it from history books.

  • The attack isn’t just on Black Americans—it extends to other communities as well.

    • Restricting Latino and immigrant rights

    • Dismantling women’s rights movements

    • Censoring Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies

The Department of Education Under Attack

Trump’s Project 2025 doesn’t just aim to erase history—it also plans to weaken public education altogether.

  • Less funding for public schools, which will hurt lower-income families of all races.

  • Eliminating diverse histories and discussions from public school curriculums.

  • Pushing for privatized, selective education, which will increase racial and economic inequality.

Yet, even with all of this happening right in front of them, some still refuse to see the truth.

Families and Friends at War

Political debates have turned into all-out battles among family members, friends, and even church communities.

  • Some blindly defend Trump’s actions, not caring how many people they hurt.

  • Others feel heartbroken, watching their loved ones fall deeper into deception.

  • Many feel betrayed as family members choose to side with a man who has proven he is not for them.

Just like in Noah’s time, the people were warned—but they refused to listen! They ignored the signs, dismissed the truth, and continued to walk in deception—until the flood came.

Now, the flood is here, and America is more divided than ever.
